Consultation on Great Yarmouth Charter Academy admission arrangements for September 2026 entry. 

The Inspiration Trust would like to inform you of a proposed change to the admission arrangements at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy for September 2026 entry. The Inspiration Trust is proposing a change to the oversubscription criteria for Great Yarmouth Charter Academy:

A higher priority in the oversubscription criteria order for musical aptitude places (moved from 5 to 4).

The Inspiration Trust would like to invite you to give your feedback on the proposed change by sending your response to: 

• Completing the online response form found HERE or
• Emailing the Company Secretary: governance@inspirationtrust.org quoting ‘consultation 2026 entry’ in the subject header or
• Posting to Company Secretary, Inspiration Trust, Weights & Measures Building, 28 Bethel Street, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 1NR. 

The closing date for responses is Friday 17th January 2025.

At the end of the consultation period, the Inspiration Trust Board of Trustees will meet to consider responses received by the closing date. 

Admission arrangements for 2026 entry will be determined by the 28th February 2025 and will be published on the academy websites by the 15th March 2025.

Please note that any changes made to comply with the mandatory law of the School Admissions Code and School Admissions Appeal Code are exempt from comment.

Consultation on the proposal to remove the sixth form provision at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy.

The Inspiration Trust consulted on the proposal to change the age range (remove the sixth form) at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy day from the 1st September 2025. The consultation received 4 responses. The Inspiration Trust Board of Trustees considered the consultation responses against the case for change. A formal request to change the age range has been made to the Department for Education and the Trust now awaits their decision.
