Culinary Delights by Year 9 Students
BackWe are thrilled to share with you the amazing culinary creations of our Year 9 students in their recent Food Preparation & Nutrition class. Under the guidance of their dedicated teacher, Ms. Baxter, students embarked on an exciting project to craft delicious Bakewell Tarts, and the results were truly outstanding.
Throughout the project, the students demonstrated remarkable skill and creativity in the kitchen. From mastering the art of making shortcrust pastry from scratch to perfecting the all-in-one sponge cake, our budding young chefs worked diligently in pairs to bring their culinary visions to life.
Not only did the students showcase their prowess in baking, but they also honed their icing techniques, creating intricate feather icing designs and experimenting with glace icing and melted chocolate to add the finishing touches to their delectable creations.
We are immensely proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our students, and we encourage you to join us in congratulating them on their impressive achievements in the realm of food technology.
To catch a glimpse of the students' culinary masterpieces, we invite you to browse through the attached photos. Be warned – they may leave you feeling rather peckish!
We extend our thanks to the food and nutrition department for their guidance and support throughout this project, as well as her ongoing commitment to nurturing our students' passion for food and creativity in our extra-curricular offer and culinary events team!
Stay tuned for more exciting updates from our Year 9 students, and join us in celebrating their culinary skills and achievements.
