Great Yarmouth Charter Academy Excels in Trust Football Competition: Securing 2nd Place Overall

Great Yarmouth Charter Academy showcased their exceptional talent and sportsmanship at the recent trust football competition held at The Nest. The school's teams displayed outstanding performance, securing an impressive 2nd place overall out of the 9 trust schools that participated.

The results were a testament to the dedication and skill of the students, with the Year 7 and Year 8 girls' teams emerging as winners in their respective categories. Additionally, the Year 9 girls' team achieved a commendable 2nd place, while the Year 10 girls' team secured 3rd place. The winning girls team included Lily Fincham, Emelia Winiarska, Khelsea Sanderson, Lexey Sutcliffe, Mariyah Yousaf (GK), Ariana Judvytyte, Frankie Walker, Phoebe Bartram and Viviana Lentu.

Lily Fincham, a Year 7 who was part of the winning team said,

"I was so excited to compete against sportswomen across Norfolk, and winning 7 out of 8 games was a dream come true. It was an amazing experience, and I'm so proud of our team's hard work and dedication."

The boys' teams also demonstrated remarkable competitiveness, contributing to the school's outstanding overall performance.

"We are immensely proud of our students' achievements in the trust football competition. Their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship have truly shone through, and we commend all the participants for their dedication and passion for the sport,"

said Paul Andrews, Head of PE.
