Great Yarmouth Charter celebrated a successful open evening and morning tours, drawing in 200 families eager to explore the academy's offerings for new Year 6 pupils in September.

The event showcased the school's extensive curriculum, including subjects such as drama, technology, computing, physics, philosophy, art and design, and photography. Teachers from all 28 subjects were on hand to discuss the curriculum, as well as upcoming events, trips, and visits aimed at enriching the students' educational experience. One of the highlights of the evening was the emphasis on the arts, with music aptitude applications on the rise and an invitation for every pupil to learn and rehearse a musical instrument to become part of the orchestra. In addition, behind-the-scenes access to the school musical 'Frozen' rehearsals provided a glimpse into the academy's vibrant arts program.

One parent gave her views on the night, which encapsulated the intention of the tours by saying, "I was really impressed by the diverse opportunities that Great Yarmouth Charter offers compared to other schools. The access to the music scholarship and the emphasis on arts and technology really stood out to me. I can see that my child will have a well-rounded education here."

The events also underscored the school's commitment to technology and science, with the introduction of textiles into their pursuit of economically sustained use of materials, as well as a focus on enhancing students' understanding of these fields. Head pupils Cristina and Nadia spoke passionately about the high standards of the school and the diverse opportunities available in the wider curriculum to pursue interests, hobbies, and ambitions for the next stage of their lives. Their inspiring words left a lasting impression on the visiting families, who left with a newfound excitement for the potential that Great Yarmouth Charter holds for their children.
