GYCA story 2

Great Yarmouth's young athletes showcased their exceptional talent and spirit at the annual cross country competition held at Wymondham College earlier this week.

With favourable weather conditions, the event saw over 100 runners in each race, ranging from sports players with high levels of cardiovascular fitness to national runners who train regularly.

All pupils represented their school with pride and determination, embodying the true Charter spirit. The competition was fierce, but the athletes from Great Yarmouth stood out with their remarkable performances.

Year 7 Results:

  • Lily F (80th)

  • Rhylan S H (60th)

Year 8 Results:

  • Francesca G (3rd)

Francesca delivered an outstanding performance, competing against both Year 8 and Year 9 girls and securing an impressive 3rd place overall. This remarkable achievement has earned her an invitation to the Regional Championships in Suffolk next month, where she will have the opportunity to compete at an even higher level.

Year 9 Results:

  • Louie L (47th)

The dedication and hard work of these young athletes are truly commendable. Their achievements not only highlight their individual excellence but also the supportive and encouraging environment fostered by the academy and PE dept.

Congratulations to all the runners for their incredible efforts and best of luck to Francesca as she prepares for the Regional Championships. Great Yarmouth is proud of you!
