In a heart-warming display of community spirit and dedication, pupils from Charter Academy have raised an impressive £2081.59 during their annual Santa Charity Run, totalling more than £20,000 since its inception at the school! This event, which has become a cherished tradition, saw enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and staff, all coming together to support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

In return for a donation, participants wear Christmassy jumpers and hats and run just over a mile and a half along the North Denes beach.

Ellie Miller, Senior Community Fundraiser at EACH, expressed her gratitude, saying, "On behalf of everyone at EACH, I want to express our heartfelt thanks for your incredible dedication and generosity. Your continued support means the world to us. This remarkable achievement will have a profound impact on the families and children who rely on our services."

Paul Andrews, Head of PE at Charter Academy, who has been instrumental in organising the event each year, shared his pride in the school community's efforts.

"It’s really pleasing to have raised £2081.59 this year, which is a testament to the hard work and support from all of the pupils, parents, and staff. There were some very generous donations, and every year this makes me proud to be part of such an excellent team.

This year sees us break through the £20,000 mark since we started supporting EACH as part of our annual Santa runs, which again shows the continuous generous nature of our community supporting seriously sick children in East Anglia."

The funds raised will go a long way in supporting the vital services provided by EACH, helping children and families in Great Yarmouth and beyond. The Charter Academy community looks forward to continuing this tradition and making a positive impact for years to come.
