Great Yarmouth Charter Academy celebrates success of first music violin scholars
BackGreat Yarmouth Charter Academy is proud to announce the success of its first two Music Scholars to receive their first grading, Kaylee and Myriam. The scholars have achieved their Initial Violin Exams from Trinity College with merit, after being taught by a professional tutor in just one year.
What makes their achievement even more impressive is that all of the Music Scholars are beginners, yet they have shown tremendous dedication and perseverance in achieving their goals.
"I'm incredibly proud of Kaylee and Myriam for their exceptional achievement," said Mr Rosembert, Principal, "Their success is a testament to their hard work and the dedication of their teachers."
The Music Scholars program is a way for pupils who attend Charter Academy to encourage musical talent and provide opportunities for students to explore their musical potential and be part of the a full orchestra to support the school’s productions and annual Carol Service held at St Andrew’s Hall in Norwich. Over 50 pupils are now part of the scholarship program. The program offers a range of benefits, including free instrumental/vocal lessons, paid music exam fees, termly masterclasses, and regular performance opportunities.
Mr. Rosembert said:
"We value music education and want to encourage musical young people. We know that the whole school community benefits when musical people choose our school, and we're committed to providing the best possible learning experience for all of our students."
Kaylee and Myriam's achievement is not only a personal triumph, but also a sign of the shifting culture or musical excellence at the academy. Mr Stephens, the Director of Music for Inspiration Trust said, "This means we're shifting the culture at Charter Academy... pupils are working through their challenges, sticking with it, and achieving top recognition and grading by our partners at Trinity College, London."
